Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration Competition

In conjunction with the Mid-Autumn festival celebrations, an art competition was organised by Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum. The title of the art competition is "My Mid-Autumn Lantern Drawing and Design."
This competition is open to pupils aged between seven to twelve
years old from three selected schools. A total of 300 white lanterns were sent to the participating schools and talented pupils were invited to draw and design on the lanterns using their creativity.

All lanterns designed by the pupils were then sent back and adorned along the glass-covered walkway around the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple. The display of lanterns will be from 8th of September to 25th of September '07. All children from the participating schools are encouraged to vote for their favourite lantern design by taking part in the "Vote for your Favourite Lantern" contest from the group of pre-selected lanterns. The lantern with the most number of votes will emerge the winner and stand to win attractive prizes.

Design a Rabbit Mask Competition

The Horse Rabbit Society (Singapore) , an all-volunteer, non-profit organisation dedicated to rabbit welfare and awareness , organised a series of contests to commemorate their 5th year.

All primary school pupils were invited to take part in the contests. For P1 to P3 pupils, they have to design a rabbit mask while P4 to P6 pupils are to design a HRSS T-shirt. For the design of rabbit mask contest, pupils have to colour and dress up the mask using recyclable materials. For the design of T-shirt, pupils have to design a T-shirt and include an educational message pertaining to rabbits.

The response to both contests was overwhelming and our school submitted several entries. We are proud to announce that two pupils from P1 got prizes for their attractive and creative designs. They have indeed done our school proud !

Tissue paper flower art workshop

An art workshop was conducted for our teachers in August. Our trainer was none other than our own colleague, Mdm Vijaya. The teachers had their hands literally full with using tissue paper to make their own paper flowers. It was indeed both a therapeutic and enriching experience for all participants.
